Shabdarth

Shabdarth is a platform for Konkani lovers to showcase their expertise in Konkani. It is designed in the form of a game wherein the players are provided with Konkani words and they need to enter the requested details such as the meaning of the word, the part of speech to which the word belongs to, synonyms of the word and some relevant examples of the word.

The player will be assigned score based on the correctness of the details entered. The fields concept, example, Synonyms and category have scores 3, 3, 3 and 1 respectively. The score will be reflected after the entries have been evaluated by the Konkani experts.

This game is a small part of an initiative to enhance the word count in the Konkani WordNet. Konkani WordNet provides a pool of Konkani words along with their meanings, synonyms and examples. The data obtained from this game will be further used to add more words to the Konkani WordNet and improve its vocabulary.

Shabdarth is being developed by Sanjana Manerkar, M.E. (Computer Science and Engineering) student from Goa College of Engineering (GEC) as a part of her final year project. This project is being carried out in collaboration by Goa Business School (Computer Science & Technology), Goa University (Department of Konkani) and Goa College of Engineering (Computer Engineering Department).
